The location of the lodges was fantastic, with beautiful scenery and panoramic views nearby. The cabins themselves were pretty and had nice showers and bathrooms. The breakfast included was excellent and provided a great start to the day. Additionally, the staff were friendly and professional.
In winter, the cabins can get quite cold even with the electric blankets provided. Also, some couples may not prefer the two single beds pushed together in the cabins.

The breakfast at the hotel was absolutely delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from. the freshly baked goodies were a delightful treat every morning. the location of the hotel was perfect for exploring the surrounding area, with easy access to the Panorama Route and the stunning Blyde River Canyon. the staff at the hotel were friendly and professional, ensuring that all our needs were met during our stay.
Although our stay at the hotel was great overall, there were a few minor issues in the room. For example, the shower door was a bit wonky.

The accommodation was very comfortable and clean, with a cozy fireplace that we enjoyed during the cold and rainy weather. The host was friendly and helpful, providing us with delicious breakfast and extensive knowledge of the area's attractions and activities. The location offered a beautiful view, adding to the romantic atmosphere of our stay.
The property could use some maintenance, as the grass seemed overgrown and the lake surrounded by trees resulted in leaves falling in, which was not what we expected from the online descriptions. The hot water in the chalets was inconsistent and required calling the caretaker, which was a hassle.

The frequent power outages during our stay. This made cooking difficult as the stove in our cabin was electric.

I had a fantastic stay at Zur Alten Mine! The warm welcome from the host made me feel right at home. The log cabin I stayed in was cozy and clean, with all the amenities I needed. The homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious and the best I had during my trip. The location was perfect for exploring the Blyde River Canyon, and the safe drive to nearby restaurants in Graskop was convenient. I loved taking a walk in the beautiful garden. I had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this hotel.
The only minor issue I had was with the pillows, which could have been firmer. Additionally, the Wi-Fi connection was a bit unstable in the morning when I needed to work and check emails, which was a bit unfortunate.

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy log cabin just outside of Graskop. The location was ideal for exploring the panorama route, and the cabins were fully equipped and clean. The hosts went above and beyond when our car broke down upon arrival, supplying us with food and even following us to the mechanic to ensure our safety. The breakfast was exceptional with homemade produce, and the owner provided helpful recommendations. The property itself was beautiful, with a lovely pond and a feeling of privacy. We would stay here again without hesitation. 10 out of 10.
Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.
